This cache is placed at a rest stop just south of Blackall towards Tambo. Along with my other caches of the Canetoad theme, this is a rest area for travellers which has a host of amenities, including camping, picnic tables, drop toilets and lighting, wheelchair friendly. Because it is isolated, a solar powered light has been installed.
The light attracts insects during the night while it is on and the cane toads sit underneath and open their mouths. As the cane toad is an obnoxious species, maybe you could bring a spray bottle of Dettol/water mix and spray them while you are here. This stuff kills them dead!!! A more humane way is to capture them and put them in the freezer, but please note it will take 3, yes 3 DAYS to kill them this way, any less and they will hop away. Don't handle them without gloves, they have poison glands on their backs, make sure the dog does not eat them, it will probably die. If you arrive here during the daytime, I doubt you will see any, but you may see the big long road trains full of cattle either going to agistment or to the market The cache is a nano, with a basic logbook bring your own pen, it can take 1 or 2 small TB's or GC's Congratulations to birdmanone for First To Find
