Geocache Description:

On the tow path of the sharpness canal.

This is a nice walk from purton. The Sharpness canal was once the deepest and widest in the world, the canal opened in April 1827. In the course of its construction the canal had cost £440,000. As opened the canal was 86½ feet wide, 18 feet (5.5 m) deep and could take craft of up to 600 tons. The cache title comes from me passing a bush on the corner of the natural break in the trees to plant the cache! There are stinging nettles and brambles on the entry to the natural break in the bushes, so wear long trousers.
