Since discovering geocaching in April of this year and finding 25 caches since, drillerUK has attempted to hide his first geocache in a spot which will give the finder a beautiful view over to the North Downs in the distance. He regularly walks his dogs along this public footpath and had a great idea as to where he wanted to hide his first little microcache.
There is a lovely footpath here stretching from Sweets Lane in the South to The Rocks Road at the North end. All through the year the walk changes as the crops grow...apples, grain, strawberries and plums to name but a few. Sweets Lane is a lot higher in elevation than it first appears and on a clear day I am always amazed how far into the distance one can see. The North Downs, Bluebell Hill, Kit's Coty ...do take a map and see how many landmarks you can spot!
This is a microcache, quite sneakily hidden, and has a teeny weeny likkle pencil inside along with the log. You will probably need a pair of tweezers to get the log out of the container, please make sure to tuck it all back inside after you sign.
Parking should be no problem in Sweets Lane as there are no real restrictions apart from being careful not to block any entrances...oh, and if you don't like negotiating winding bends with single lane traffic and no easy passing spaces...or if you are not prepared to reverse 50 meters on occasions, then enter and exit Sweets Lane from the Wateringbury Road end NOT the Ditton/Kiln Barn/Easterfields side. You have been warned!
As this is my first hide, please give me some feedback as to how you found the hunt for it. I already have a couple more to tuck away somewhere in this area if you want them! Thanks to AGMTEdwards for helping suggest I tweak the difficulty level up a notch after being first to find.
