Geocache Description:

3/24/16 UPDATE: NEW CONTAINER TO BE PLACED 3/25/16---- This is an easy grab and go over a small water crossing on Route 200 , there is a nice clearing for parking and turnarounds. Another hidden treasure combining natural beauty with local history. Just a bit up the road you'll see the old Franklin church (now the Historical Society), with the old preserved 19th century single room post office and schoolhouse.

Welcome to the crossing at Card Mill Stream- on one side of the bridge you will see the salt marsh that winds up in Hog Bay, and on the other you will see the rollicking water of the stream crossing over stones. In the 19th century, Card's Mill was on this stream- a grist mill. Further up the road you can find the Franklin Historical Park, laden with relics of the grist mill era. Nowadays the stream is popular for fishing, and locals will drop a line from the bridge.
The signal can be iffy here at times, but it's an easy spot.
