Lava Dike Traditional Cache

LAVA DIKE
Parking is at a locked gate. DO NOT BLOCK THE GATE. YOUR VEHICLE WILL BE TOWED
This is another cache that was placed while Geo Dogs and I hiked up to Angora Peak. The trail goes right beside a lava dike left over after erosion took the rest of the soil away.
The cache is a small with room for small items and trackables like geo coins. There is no writing utensil however, because I wasn’t able to get enough together this morning. This was a spur of the moment kind of cache. It is in a stump covered by a rock. Shouldn’t be too hard to find. You don’t have to go too far off the trail. If you take the side trail on the top of the lava dike you can get the Geo Dogs cache, or you can continue up toward the Peak and get the three caches up there.
As with all hikes be prepared and bring the appropriate gear. I suggest boots and raingear at least. And bring water and something to eat. It is a considerable hike. But most of all enjoy the hike. There is a small prize for the FTF
