This geocache is part of the Gold Country Geocaching Poker Run 2013. All the fun of geocaching with an added twist; a poker run as well! Check goldtrail.com for more details. Tour through Gold Country and find the geocaches hidden for this event. There will be great views, scenic drives, historic communities and interesting sites to explore!

A wagon road from Cook's Ferry (Spences Bridge) to Merritt was completed in 1875. This road is now called Highway 8 and there is still evidence of old cribbing and road bed along the route. Parking is good. Bring a pen.
