This geocache is part of the Gold Country Geocaching Poker Run 2013. All the fun of geocaching with an added twist; a poker run as well! Check goldtrail.com for more details. Tour through Gold Country and find the geocaches hidden for this event. There will be great views, scenic drives, historic communities and interesting sites to explore!

Honour Dalton (Dot) P. Marpole who owned the ranch, died in a tragic barn fire on Jan. 29, 1908. Dot was the son of Richard Marpole the general superintendent of the CPR railway. There was a post office established at Dot on Mar 1, 1009 and closed on Sept. 6, 1947 Parking is good but it is on Hwy 8 so pull well over.
