Geocache Description:

Skerry MPT - Tree Bums

The idea for Skerry Mini Power Trail (MPT) came about on our way home from a day's caching. Snuggles:) took us up this little road and proceeded to tell us that it only had one cache on it right at the far end. Although we had this cache none of us had driven on down this road to know where it led to.

It is such a lovely little road. It is off the beaten track, there are views for miles all around, it takes in part of the circular Dungonnell Way walk and to top it off you are driving up through some mountains rather than trying to climb them. Now that is a plus!

We decided this road needed a MPT to help each cacher take their time on this road to really look around and enjoy the beauty of our wee Emerald Isle. We don't know a lot about the area but it's amazing what you can learn from an OS map. Take one with you and see if you can work out how most of the caches got their names.

Other caches in the area you could visit include

The Drum

Never Eat Shredded Wheat

Dungonnell Way Series

Inver River

The Pool

The Pump House

Trostan Trove

Moyle Way Series

THE CACHE

Cache got its name as there used to be a lot of rude trees around here but the whole area has been cleared since the trail first published. Cache used to be a black bullet but thanks to a previous cacher who replaced it it is currently a small plastic jar. I have added offical Geocaching card etc in side it.
