Här var skogsplantskola för Hallebergs återeskogning 1866-1880, därefter planterades den med bok av skogsskolan på Bergagården. Härav namnet Bokedalen. Bokens naturliga nordgräns går i höjd med Borås. Alla bokar på bergen är planterade.

Here was the forest nursery for Hallbergs reforestation 1866-1880, then planted it with beech trees of the forest school in Bergagården. Hence the name Bokedalen (beech dale). The beech's natural northern boundary is at the height of Borås. All the beech trees on the hill are planted.
