A beautiful new walking trail from the entry kiosk, with a great overlook and picnic area above Aptos creek.
The Parks spent some money during this past year upgrading some trails in the park. First they fixed the washout on the Aptos creek trail. For several years you had to climb ropes to get past that spot, and the trail was officially closed. Now there is a cool bridge there. Then they reworked the trail right by the kiosk and made a wheel-chair access trail up to this picnic spot. Its great! This cache takes you to that spot so you can check it out.
The spot is too close to another cache... so, go to the picnic table and find a name carved into it. How many letters in that last name? Multiply that number by 32. Now go that many feet in compass heading of 145 degrees. That would NOT be off in the direction anywhere near the creek.
