Hi there TheVersteegs,

This cache has been flagged by Geocaching HQ as a cache that MAY need some attention. You would have received an automated email from Geocaching HQ recently which explained what they need to do.

Unfortunately, nothing seems to have happened, so I am having to take the next step - see here: Geocache Health Score. and temporarily disable the cache.

Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) within 14 days, so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?

You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:

  • Check on the cache, repair and/or replace the cache or do whatever else is needed, post an Owner Maintenance log indicating the cache has been checked and ENABLE your cache. Then sit back and wait for the praises.

  • If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (within 14 days). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. For ongoing issues (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 28 days so as to keep everyone up to speed.

  • If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to Adopt it or alternatively, you need to Archive it, so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when I next look at the cache page, it is likely that I will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) it on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

Geocache Description:

Pine kenny is loacted road side of kenny Park this sporting oval can be a hive of activity so please be mindful of Muggles.
Please park safely & take care when searching the area. I have removed rubbish but as it is a well used sporting ground can not guarantee no rubbish. You may need to duck & weave near the trees to get close ,depending which route you take.

E.J. Kenny was the first 'Officer in Charge of the State Rivers & Water Supply Commission of Victoria Irrigation Area' established in 1909. The hot climate and the distance from markets saw the settlement quickly change from dairying to the growing of the less perishable crops of citrus and grapes for drying and spirit making.   Merbein was originally identified as White Cliffs because of its impressive river white cliffs. In 1912 the irrigation settlement's name was officially changed to Merbein, reputedly an aboriginal name of a local sand hill. Many early residents would have preferred it to be called 'Merebin'. Kenny, known as the 'Father of Merbein', died suddenly in 1925 and his contribution to the success of the settlement was acknowledged with the naming of Kenny Park.
Cache was placed this log , & a few swaps has room for small geocoins & swag. Please be careful when opeing cache & you will need your own pen .
