Geocache Description:

Kaneyama is a beautiful town famous for its traditional buildings, and waterways filled with carp.

This cache leads you to a small forest shrine, where you can see some of the tall cedar trees for which Kaneyama is famous. Many of the traditional buildings are constructed using cedar wood.

A mountain spring near the shrine constantly fills up a trough with fresh cold water, which you can drink. Apparently this water will give you a long life!

The cache is easy to reach from the road and doesn't require you to enter the undergrowth.

If you continue along the road for about 1km, you'll reach the Ippon-zakura. This is a hundred year old cherry tree that stands at the edge of a pond. When it's in bloom (around early to mid-May), it's very beautiful and a popular spot with local photographers.

The cache is a small plastic container. Please bring your own pen.

It is unavailable in winter (mid-December to April) due to heavy snowfall.
