SWAT4* Step Up in Stile - No, we said UP! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

AnTsInRpAnTs: We are sorry to find ourselves archiving this successful cache but it forms part of a series that has often suffered problems and has now been threatened by a new housing estate.

So we are about to publish a new cache not far from this one for all to enjoy.

Geocache Description:

The SWAT series consists of 13 traditional caches and a Bonus puzzle cache placed on an approximately circular walk in the Southwater area. SWAT15 is an additional cache which no information required for the Bonus, SWAT14.

Note: this cache has moved, so we have changed the title to reflect its new location and the nature of the hide.

The series can be done in any order, but is numbered from the recommended (free) parking area (coordinates given in SWAT1). There are other caches in the vicinity which you may want to consider finding if you haven’t already done so.

The route takes you mainly along footpaths (some could be muddy in winter) but there are a couple of short stretches of road where care should be taken with young children and/or dogs.

Don’t forget to take note of the Bonus Letter and value in each cache. These will be required to calculate the coordinates for the Bonus cache, SWAT14

NB The circuit of 13 caches takes about 55-60 minutes to walk with no interruptions. The average difficulty level for this group is set at just under 2 but there are a couple that might take a little more thought and searching.

At the time of publication, there are 3 or 4 fields you will pass through that have grazing cattle with a high proportion of young calves and heifers present, which makes all of them pretty jumpy. Please try not to disturb them too much and, for sure, if you have dogs with you keep them on the lead and under tight control in these areas. Walking the walk today, I encountered a large gaggle of them gathered round one of the caches. I checked but they hadn’t signed the log
