Schedule Retirement Soon! Easy location to drive right up to, but very hard to located cache. WARNING: TICK AND CHIGGER ALERT. Put your pants in your socks and spray bug repellant all over your shoes and ankles. I got into a nest of them walking around and was lucky enough to have a change of shoes and socks. The 90deg heat really brought out the critters.
Bring small things for this 3x1inch cache, like $George dollars, coins, pins, and such. Cache is very well hidden by the old down tree and will be hard to locate.
Harrisville paper mill ruins and cellar holes of the old town are right in this area. The cache is located right by the old Gas generation building. Harrisville (actually across the street) was such a nice town back in the old days that the streets were lit by gas lamps generated by the gas house close to this spot. Bodines Tavern was located nearby as well. The main road at that time was the sand road you will be on. The paved road may not have even been there. The community of Martha and Calico are just a mile away with the people there running the Martha Furnace. There were many hundreds of folks living in these general areas, but not a soul lives there today.
