Came out on my mountain bike today, and as I approached the 3rd group of horseback riders I dismounted as usual. Knowing some horses spook easily (and since the geo-tolerant wife has seen way too many injuries from falls off horses in her ER) I always stop, move off the trail and let them pass. Each time today the riders expressed genuine thanks, leading me to believe not all mountain bikers display such safety. SHAME! It only takes a minute, and you'll be up and riding again soon - kinda reminds me of the impatient car driver at the pedestrian in the sidewalk...
Anywho, since I was stopped I looked around and spotted a great place for a cache not too far off the trail.
