Geocache Description:

I love this little stretch of water, it has so many names. South Old Bar Beach , North Wallabi Beach, South Pacific Ocean, and yet one name always seems to be forgotten. Its the name of that stretch of water that separates us from the Kiwis.

And no I don't mean "The Ditch" or "The Detch" if your from the other side, no the name I'm talking about is The Tasman Sea. Named after Abel Janszoon Tasman the first European explorer to come across New Zealand and Tasmania. You've got to wonder how he missed Australia and there are many out there who don't believe he did. In any case, this cache is a tribute to remind us that we live on the coast of The Tasman Sea and although it forms part of the South Pacific, it should not be forgotten. So come along for a seaside stroll, there are many ways to get to this one, though the shortest route will be from the southern end of Old Bar Beach, or North Wallabi Beach if you prefer. The cache is easy enough to find but to extract it from its location you will need to get quite familiar with the Tasman Sea. Once you have found it, it should be obvious what is required and please do not try and dismantle it and make sure you leave it as you found it. Good luck and Happy Caching.
