Cache is a large rubbermaid container that has a logbook, and various dollar store trinkets. Please replace the cache as found. I have included a parking waypoint for your convenience. FTF prize is $2.
I've had this idea in my head for a long time, and I thought that it was about time that I acted on it. It's safe to say that caching has changed since the game began in 2000. Obviously there are a lot more cachers playing the game today, as well we a lot more caches being placed. With this comes a lot of smaller containers hidden in poor locations, compared to how the game began. I wanted to place an old school hide. I wanted this cache to replicate the caches that were placed when the game was first developed. When I think of old school cachers, two names immediately came to mind in this area: capjap & The Blue Quasar. I've seen their names on cache pages since I began playing, and always admired the way that they logged their caches found. I had the chance to ask them what the old school caches were like, what they looked like, what they contained, and how things were different. With their help, I think I've accomplished what I set out to do.
By using recommended parking, you'll go a wonderful 2km roundtrip hike through this beautiful forest. You'll find a large container (like ones that use to be hidden in the past), full of swag and a logbook. I've used a similar logbook that I found in GC35 (Power Island), and it is my hopes that cachers actually write about their experiences in this logbook (like cachers did in the past), and not only on gc.com
Congratulations to bruce iroquoia on the FTF!
