Geocache Description:

Hidden in the jungles of Carlsmith Park. (cache by Mommy B)

Carlsmith Park (4 Mile - as it is sometimes called) is near and dear to me. I placed this cache for many reasons but mostly to celebrate the two dear "fathers" in my life: my own dad and the father of my children (my dear husband).

Carlsmith Park is first where Dad gave me away to my husband when we got married. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and the beauty of the place gave us many great pictures and memories. My Dad had tears in his eyes when he walked me down the stairs next to the pavilion into the open area and then up by two palms near the ocean where I then took my vows with my husband. This park will always be dear to me because this was the start of my family.

The second reason was that this was also the place where we did the services when my father passed away last year. After the service, I released a travel bug in honor of Dad and went exploring in the jungles for a cache to release his travel bug. That cache is listed below: Jungle Reclaim and should be explored if you are out looking for this cache.

When exploring the jungle, it was a peaceful walk by myself in remembrance of Dad and all the exploring and adventures that we shared together as I was growing up. I couldn't believe what a wonderful little peaceful jungle to walk through and explore the little trails right near the beach. It was just what I needed that day.

So when I thought about where I wanted to hide a Father's Day cache, I knew it had to be here, then realized there were two here already so I had to look and see if there was a way to hide one within the 0.10 mile limit. I was off again to explore the jungle! I found the place to hide this cache in honor of Dad and my dear husband. I am hoping that this gets published on Father's Day for my husband to go out and hunt it with the boys.

Once I found where I was going to place it, I also made yet another new discovery about this great little park...there is a small parking lot closer to the jungle area that I never knew about! So you can either go the long way and start from the area with the Carlsmith Beach Park sign, or you can find the other little parking lot a little ways down from there and start from there. Either way, don't just stop at this cache...explore this little jungle delight and spend a little time finding the other three caches in the area listed below!

Happy Hunting and BRING BUG SPRAY!
