WSGA has adopted the last segment of the Cross Kirkland Corridor. Let's make our section the best maintained!
We will meet at 10:00am where NE 52nd St crosses the corridor. Please include how many will be participating as I need to print out hold harmless agreements for everybody. Sadly they are individual and not per family! Children are welcome but only with guardians.
Parking is VERY limited. Please carpool if possible and do NOT park at the posted coordinates. There are a few spots on NE 52nd St to the East. Alternatively, you can park on NE 53rd and walk west along the chain link fence. A third option is to park near the intersection of NE 55th St and 104th Ave NE. There is a minor trail to the west which leads to the corridor.
Please bring gloves, clippers or better yet loppers. I will have trash bags and a limited number of vests for those working the southern section and have to cross the road. It's not very busy, but there is limited visibility.
We will be removing trash and cutting back vegetation along the rail bed and, where appropriate, the trail parallel to it. I expect various saplings, butterfly bush and scotch broom.
Trash and vegetation is to be piled up near NE 52nd St on both sides of the road in separate piles. I will contact the city to pick it up.
