HOLTUG KALKBRUD
I den nordlige ende af Stevns Klint ligger Holtug Kalkbrud, hvor der indtil 1972 blev gravet både kridt og kalk - i 1991 blev det solgt til staten.
I dag er området et spændende, rekreativt område, med mange sjældne planter.
I flere klare småsøer i området lever både den store og den lille vandsalamander.
Kalkbruddet er også et godt sted at finde fossiler.
Holtug Kalkbrud er et flot udsigtspunkt, og det er muligt at komme ned til kysten ad en snoet sti og klatretov uden brug af trapper.
Der er picnicplads i forbindelse med P-pladsen.
Og er man lystfisker er der gode muligheder for at fange havørred, kysttorsk & hornfisk ved kysten.
Until 1972 Holtug chack pit, was active. In 1991 the pit was sold to the state who made it into a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.
In the pit you can find a broad variety of rare and preserved plants along with amphibians and reptiles as lizards and adders.
Holtug chack pit is also a good place to look for fossils.
It is possible to come down to the coastline without the use of a staircase.
If you like to fish you have good chances to catch seatrout, cod & garfish at the coast.
