Geocache Description:

A series of geocaches through Rannoch Forest. This 5 mile walk takes you along the steep banks of the Allt na Bogair burn. Good firm tracks lead through the native trees of the Rannoch Forest, excellent open views along the way.



While out walking listen for the bird calls and if your lucky you may hear the distinct gutteral call of the capercaillie , the largest member of the grouse family that living in mature conifer forests. Their diet consists of pine needles, blueberries and insects for which they forage around the forest floor.






PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING ADVICE FROM HARVESTING FORESTER

For any forestry activities taking place.

Members of public must adhere to the signage around active harvesting sites and whilst the operations are underway some sites of interest will be inaccessable..

Even after the felling and extraction operation is complete, haulage will continue along this route so users must be aware of timber lorries.

Do not climb on timber stacks.
