Geocache Description:

Around The Edge is a circular walk, (approx. 3 miles), around Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.  The 7 caches take you past points of historical interest.  To check out the many interesting historical sites, please visit the following website:  www.mountedgcumbe.gov.uk

Around the Edge has been possible due to the kind permission of Mount Edgcumbe  Country Park, with the caches being created by one of the Park Rangers.  There are two toilet / cafe facilities on route and plenty of fabulous picnic sites.    Please keep dogs on a lead where asked to and take care not to damage flora and fauna as you search.
There are several options for parking.  Listed below are co-ordinates for 3 car parking areas giving you the choice where to start and finish the walk.

Cremyll Ferry, Plymouth side (free pkg – pay to cross ferry): N50 21.911 W004 09.769
Maker Church, Maker (free pkg): N50 20.882 W004 11.051
Dry Walk Parking, Mount Edgcumbe (pay & display) : N50 21.148 W004 10.814

Barn Pool is a sheltered deep water anchorage site, used by Vikings in 997. Offshore is the shipwreck Melta Catharina Von Flensburg 1786.
Please gently retrieve and replace the cache.
After finding this cache, there is a waypoint listed on No.5 to help you find the route to the Folly.
