Geocache Description:

The Meyer Sugar Mill, Hawaii's smallest and oldest existing mill, was built in 1877 and was in operation until 1889.This three-room fully restored mill was built by Rudolph Meyer, who migrated from Germany to Hawaii in 1850. When Meyer constructed the sugar mill, he used mules and a steam engine to run the machinery that crushed and processed the sugarcane. The mill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located next to the Molokai Museum and is usually included in the museum tour. The museum contains changing exhibits on the island's early history as well as a gift shop.
