Geocache Description:

This is a tribute to the cache by Log Dawgs called 'Mount Rushmore" (GC42FV5).  It can be found north of Houston, TX in Jones State Forest.  It was such a cool idea for a cache I wanted Austin to experience it.  This is a micro, but what you're looking for is bigger than that...

I've put my own twist on it and even provided a tool to be able to reach the cache!  (You can make your own from the surrounding area, if necessary...)

Why is this cache called "Weird Science"?  Two reasons:

1)  'Weird Science' was the only song to hit the Top 40 (#38) for one of my favorite bands from my home in Southern California - Oingo Boingo.  (Written for the 1985 movie of the same name.)  Oingo Boingo was a new-wave band that began in 1979 and lasted until 1994.  Their more famous songs are, "Dead Man's Party", "Only A Lad", "No One Lives Forever", "Who Do You Want To Be", and they even did a cover of The Beatles, "I Am The Walrus".


More famous than their songs though is their frontman, singer/writer, Danny Elfman.  Danny went on to become one of the most famous film composers of this era.  Many of his themes are iconic - "Batman", "The Simpsons", "Beetlejuice", "Men In Black", "Spiderman", "Edward Scissorhands", "Good Will Hunting", "Desparate Housewives", "The Nightmare Before Christmas", "Milk".  He has also done the soundtrack to the Cirque du Soleil show, Iris.  He has teamed up many times with director Tim Burton.


2)  The cache:  It's weird.  It's science.  It's weird science...
