Geocache Description:


The cache is near a cairn on top of Gowk Hill from where, on a good day, there are superb views in all directions. Please note that the cache is NOT in the cairn so don't damage it by looking!

There are several possible ways to approach this location. It is possible to walk almost to the cache on footpaths marked on the OS map but, when I placed the cache, I parked at the suggested place, followed the signed bridleway to the north side of the old railway track bed (see GC4EBG1 The Wannie Line) then struck out in a more or less straight line, across access land, to the cache.

The terrain is a bit wet in places and there are some patches of deep heather so appropriate footwear is recommended.
