Aesop's Fable
The Tortoise and the Hare is a fable attributed to Aesop. The story concerns a hare who ridicules a slow-moving tortoise. The tortoise challenges the hare to a race. The hare soon leaves the tortoise far behind. Confident of winning, the hare decides to take a nap midway through the course. The tortoise never stops for a moment, continuing onward at a slow and steady pace toward the end of the course. When he awakes the hare finds that his competitor, crawling slowly but steadily, has already won the race and is dozing comfortably in her fatigue.
The cache *is* at the posted coordinates; however, you must fulfill the requirements before you may log a Find on this cache. This is *not* a virtual cache! The log in the container must be signed!
This is a simple “Challenge” cache with a little twist. Like the tortoise you want to be slow and steady until you reach the objective!
You will find a total of 31 caches for this challenge: 30 caches to fulfill the requirements and 1 additional cache for the final.
The requirements are as follows:
Find 30 different caches on the second day after they are published. In this challenge you may log more than one cache on a single day. For example, if a cache is published on April 11 then you must find it on April 13 in order for it to qualify in this challenge.
You may not log any individual cache more than once.
Past finds are eligible. Please note that caches do not have to be published after this challenge – you can find caches on April 13 which qualify for the challenge if they were published on April 11.
Cache types which are eligible for this challenge include: Traditional, Multicaches, Puzzles/Unknown, Earthcaches, Letterbox, and Wherigo. All caches must be registered with valid GC codes on geocaching.com.
You may count caches which have been archived since you found them.
Create a shared/public bookmark list titled “Aesop's Fable” and add all of the caches that you are counting toward your challenge requirements. In your bookmark entries please include: the cache publication date, your find date, and the cache type.
Find logs that do not meet the criteria indicated above will be deleted! I would prefer not to do this, so please be careful to fulfill the requirements before logging. Please don't hesitate to post your questions if you do not understand the requirements.
NOTE: the difficulty rating for this cache is raised slightly due to the requirements for logging this cache. Terrain rating and attributes are based on the location of the 30 CACHES. Since the final is located in the middle of a parking lot you may encounter MUGGLES everywhere!...
