Geocache Description:

2013 Girdwood

CITODERBY

You wont want to miss this CITO event being put on by GeocacheAlaska! It's the second of three clean up events we'll hold this year. And this ones going to be like a fishing tournament.

That's right it's a CITO DERBY. And just like a salmon derby, you never know if you might be a winner. We'll all head our separate ways to clean the area up, but keep a keen eye, because there are hidden treasures along the way cleverly disguised as CITO. You'll know it when you come across it so don't toss it in your bag, it may put a smiley on someone's face some day :) Afterwards we'll all meet back and see what prizes where pulled from the depths.

*****DON'T FORGET TO REGISTER FOR THE DERBY WITH A "WILL ATTEND". JUST LIKE A REAL DERBY, IT'S THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN WIN.*****

WHEN: July 14th, 2pm.

WHAT: GeocacheAlaska! girdwood CITO

WHERE: At the listed coordinates

WHY: Why? Because we love to!

Please be sure to dress appropriately. The State of Alaska suggests wearing long-sleeved shirts, sturdy, long pants and hard-soled shoes or boots. ***Sorry, but pets and children under 11 years of age are not permitted to attend this event per the conditions set by the State of Alaska. If you have a safety vest, please feel free to bring it along. If you do not have a safety vest, one will be provided for you. Other items you may want to bring along are a pair of work gloves and a respirator mask. We will be bringing nitrile gloves and some extra respirator masks should they be needed. Also, please try to carpool if you are able to in order to minimize our impact on parking.

Those who can help by taking covered truck loads of debris to the Girdwood transfer station please contact fuzzybelly.

We will be meeting promptly at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14. All volunteers will need to participate in a very brief (10 min. approx.) safety orientation as required by the State of Alaska, then we'll Don our reflective vest, and get our trash picker upper tools, and head down the road.
