Auf dem Gelände der Berufschule und "Forum Allgäu" befand sich von 1852 bis 1969 der Kopfbahnhof später der Hauptbahnhof von Kempten bevor er in den Süden verlegt wurde.
Das Empfangsgebäude wurde 1971 abgerissen. Leider ist vom Bahnhof nichts mehr zu sehen.
An der Stelle wo jetzt der Radsatz einer Dampflokomotive steht war früher der Bahnsteig von Gleis 1 und 2.
