Geocache Description:

Small cache, can hold TBs, has swag for kiddies.BYOP.

I have driven this route many times to find caches in other towns and as I was headed to Brenham to do so this time I decided this little town needed to be put on the geocaching map! New Ulm was originally called Duff's Settlement named after James Duff who acquired title to the site upon which it was founded in 1841. A post office began in 1853. At that time the town's name was changed to New Ulm in honor of Ulm, a city in the province of Wurtenberg, Germany the homeland of many of the earlier settlers. Burials in this cemetery include Veterans of the Civil War, World War 1, World War 2, The Korean War and Viet Nam War. The angel goes to the FTF. Happy caching! CONGRATULATIONS to. Snapnphotos for FTF!
