Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden near Hakodate Racecourse.

Near this cache, there is Hakodate Racecourse.
This racecourse was the oldest racecourse in Japan still existed.
At the first time,in 15 June 1875,the horse race was held as the ritual of the racehorse to the Japanese Gods of Hakodate Gokoku Shrine.
After that , from 1896 , this racecourse was held for Japanese horse races.
And its stands and grounds were upgraded in 2010, so you can feel more comfortable there.
Also it is very unique that there has the "hot-spring" for horses to cure.
In early summer,you can enjoy many horse races there.

函館競馬場の近くにキャッシュは隠しました。
函館競馬場は現存する競馬場の中では日本最古の競馬場として知られています。
その期限は1875年にまで遡るといわれ、その後1896年に時任為基氏と騎手の始祖の一人とも言われる函館大経氏が函館共同競馬会を設立。
函館共同競馬会によって函館競馬場が開場されました。
それ以来、現在に至るまで多くの競馬ファンを魅了してきています。
また、ウッドチップという調教コースや、競馬専用の温泉、手術室など競馬場には珍しい施設があることでも知られています。
それゆえ、この競馬場に出場しない競馬も、これらの施設を利用するため入場することがあるそうです。
通常は初夏の6月開催が基本と最近はなっています。
気持ちの良い初夏の風を受けながら、颯爽と駆け抜ける優駿に想いを馳せ、ぜひジオキャッシングもお楽しみください。
