The Old Cricket Pitch Traditional Cache
bobbyleggo: Regretfully we have to archive this cache as it has been muggled a few times. Unfortunately, the area, especially at night at this time of year, becomes a mecca for the "c2h5oh" enthusiast. We thank all those who have found the cache and enjoyed it. And, of course, thank you all for the favourite points. We are really pleased that it achieved 68. We really enjoyed reading the logs. You never know.....it may well return at some point!!!

Our thanks to the Countryside Ranger Service for allowing us to place our caches within Drumpellier Country Park. This cache can be a cache and dash, or grabbed whilst doing the Drumpellier Country Park series. If doing this as a cache and dash, then access is available from the Blairhill Road entrance to the park. Please note, boots or wellies may be required if it has been raining.
The large grassy area near GZ, according to the Drumpellier Country Park map, is known as "The Old Cricket Pitch". Despite many hours of research into the area, no records remain as to when the pitch was in use, or by who. Should any cachers come by any information on this area of the park, please feel free to add your comments in your log entries and we can add them to the description. This area of the park is very peaceful, even on busy days, and is ideal for dog walkers and cyclists. The cache, as the name suggests, is based on cricket. In order to sign the log, cachers must answer a cricket themed question, the answer to which is in the cache.....but do you really think it could be that easy? In order to claim the find, the log must be signed. Bring your own pen...and a bat and ball if you fancy a couple of innings!!!
