Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Busy Day at Libertytown Park Trail.  Four different cache types are on the trail.  This cache is the Letterbox cache.

To find this letterbox, there will be two options.  One is to follow the directions given below, or at the end of the directions, there were be two projections from other caches in Libertytown Park.

The given coordinates take you to parking. Once you get out of the car, the starting point coordinates take you to an information sign. This will begin your journey. You may want to read this sign.  I hear it has information, for another cache in the park.  Once done at this sign, head off to the trail that goes behind the outfield fence.  You will get to a sign about Rain Gardens.  This sign may make a good earthcache.  Keep walking on the trail until you get to some stairs. Go down the stairs until you find another sign.  I hear you might find some useful information around here.  Keep walking until you see some tennis courts on the right.  Head off to the left. As you walk on the trail, rumor has it that at some point you may want to enter the woods to the left.  After leaving the woods, keep walking on the trail.  You will get to a point where there is a big trail on the left.  You need to go on this trail to get to the letterbox, but you are probably going to keep on the original trail for the time being to find some tupperware.  Once you return to this fork in the trail, start heading to the center of the park.  Enjoy the scenery as you walk through the park, but be careful of the mud. You will get to a point where a trail heads off to the left. That is the way back to parking. Also, there is an earthcache and another geocache there. Once you pass that trail you will get to a point where a trail heads off to the right. There is a sign there and off a little ways behind the sign you will see a picnic area. Take the trail off to the right. Continue on the trail until you need to take a left. After taking a left, head up the trail. To the left you will see some trees. There will be two three-trunked trees near each other. The cache is in one of those trees. You will have to venture off trail for about 30 feet in the high brush so take proper precaution. Also, a direct route will lead straight into poison ivy, so be careful. If you look closely, you might be able to see the cache from the trail, so you may want to investigate a little before heading into the wilderness.

If you have difficulty following direction, I have given you a couple of projection below that you may also use to find the cache, but they are projections from the final coordinates of other caches in the park.
1) From the cache location of the unknown cache: 1386.86 feet at 170 degrees
2) From the cache location of the multi cache: 1188.61 feet at 147.43 degrees

The cache is a regular sized lock-n-lock container. Since this is a letterbox, the ink pad and the stamp stays in the cache, and is not to be traded. All geocaches are no more than 30-40 feet off the trails. The trails at Libertyotwn Park are mostly natural grass trails. Especially after a rain, the trails can be muddy and contain big puddles. Once off the trails, there may be rusty fences in the woods. Every effort was made so that the caches are not near any of the old rusty fences. In addition, poison ivy flourishes at Libertytown Park. Every effort was made not to put the geocaches in the poison ivy. If poison ivy is in the direct path to the geocache, there should be a more indirect route to the cache. Also, bug spray is highly recommended while hiking in the park. The park is open from dawn to dusk. The geocaches have been approved by Frederick County Parks and Recreation.
