Covered Bridges: The main reason that bridges were covered was to help protect their structure from the elements. Because wood is susceptible to rot, and exposure to weather hastened the process, covering helped them to last much longer. This covered bridge is no different. It needed a bridge across this stream of water and there just isn’t anything any prettier than a covered bridge like this. I hope you enjoy this place as much as I did. This place belongs to a friend of mind and he was kind enough to allow me to hide a cache here. As long as you respect this place and don’t climb around on it. You can walk on the bridge and look at the water beneath it.
This ammo box was won as 1st prize at Burns Park Cache Bash IV (GC3MXQ4) on 12 August 2012. By Brat22, ArRocket, Smokingranny and myself. We beat out some tough competition like Lostboys 2007 and the-Snowlight, they really gave us a run for the money. Sure was a fun filled day. Since most of these events have a challenge and if you work as a team then you need a team name. So we came up with the Misfits. So now you see where I got the cache name!! Anyway finally found the perfect location for this big ammo box. It’s on a county road just off I-40 exit 1 you can access this from east bound or west bound. It’s on the north side of the Interstate and you will have to go a total of .50 mile on gravel road. There is no room for 18 wheelers. This cache has plenty of swag has 7 TB to start with. If you take one please leave one so there will always be a TB to trade out. No big prize for the FTF, just bragging rights!! If this cache in need of maintenance please let me know so I can take care of it. Please place the lid back on I know it’s a little hard to remove and put back on but I know you can do it. Easy off easy on.
As always be careful have fun and stay safe. Remember to watch out for ticks, chiggers, snakes, spiders, or any other kind of critters. Please don’t block the driveway.
