Goose Lake Track Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Alsume: This one is gone again. Looks like the area has become a smoker's spot lots of empty smoke packets, coffee cups, bottles etc, so I think it's time to archive this and replace it with a new one in a spot I've sussed out further along the track.

Geocache Description:

Alsume's 24th cache brings you one of three we have placed at Jack Roper Reserve, 217 Camp Road, Broadmeadows. This is a large park with lots of facilities, including three playgrounds with a Liberty swing, BBQ and public toilets, a large lake, one soccer field and ample parking.  In June and September every year about 300 trout are added to the Jack Roper Reserve to enhance the number of fish.

The name of the cache was originally to be based on Swan Lake, but every time I have been here the geese have had the numbers by a large margin, so Goose Lake it became. Ducks and moorhens, although not as striking in stature as the geese and swans are also prolific in this park.

Throughout the park there are walk/cycle tracks that join up with the track that follows the Western Ring Road and in the opposite direction, after crossing Camp Rd, leads you into Seabrook Reserve, where the track goes further.

The cache is a screw top container a bit larger than a film container, but you won't see it due to its camouflage. Please replace it exactly where you found it.

Hope you enjoy the park.
