Geocache Description:

This is the third and most challenging installment of the Owl King Series.  I reccomend that you only attempt this one with a Kayak or Small Canoe.  This entire end of the lake is covered with Water Lillies.  It took me about 20 minutes to paddle through all of the Lilly Pads to get back to the island.

Humans have regarded Owls as symbols of intelligence, education, and wisdom for centuries.  The phrase “wise as an owl” has been used to denote people who demonstrate unusually high levels of wisdom.  Among the Owls however, the title “Owl King” is used to set apart those Owls who demonstrate extraordinary levels of wisdom.  Three   Owl Kings have chosen Lake Gordonsville, for its quiet beauty, to meditate on the problems of our day.  Each of the three Owl Kings is more reclusive than his predecessor. 

Finding the third Owl King will be no easy task.  Unlike his royal brothers he has chosen to live upon Owl Island.  Those who seek him, who do not have wings, will need a boat.   Owl Island is hidden at the far end of Lake Gordonsville.  This place offers him seclusion.  Only those willing to paddle through the tangle of Lilly Pads will find their way to the third Owl King.
