The cache is small and only has a log sheet. It can be removed by pulling the nail out. Please roll the log up once signed and return it as found. Please ensure you have a pencil.
Sumba Pan is situated in the centre of Hwange National Park. along the main road which goes from the south east to the north west of the park. The Pan is filled from a borehole and windmill offering water to the animals all year round. The maintenance is funded by well wishers and friends of Hwange in the interests of the animals of the park.
The pan is named after the Lion which frequent this area. Shumba is the Shona language word for Lion.
Spend time on the platform as the pan offers a lifeline to hundreds of animals and bird life.
