Take a stroll on this new trail through thick woods along Long Creek from the USNWC.
This cache is best accessed by walking along the Long Creek Preserve Trail. Currently the only access to this trail is via the US National Whitewater Center. This natural surface trail follows Long Creek for most of its length. The cache is a small clear Lock&Lock container.
The property is owned and managed by the Catawba Lands Conservancy and the trail is a segment of the Carolina Thread Trail. The preserve protects the Long Creek Creek and provides important habitat for imperiled species. This preserve is part of a larger Conservation Area that spans both sides of Long Creek and bank of the Catawba River. Portions of the conservation area include the Eco-industrial ReVenture Park.
