Geocache Description:

Evil Edna, the miserable old television witch.  Look for a smallish black tube, not a lot of room inside, only very small swappables etc.  Initially it contains a log book and a marble - said it was small.    Please mind the odd bramble and please beware of the roads nearby for your children.

Bit of an odd one this cache.  Years ago we were saddened to find an aold CRT television set dumped over an old hedge just off a roadway near us.  Later I used to inform my bemused young son that this television was called Evil Edna.  When he asked who Evil Edna was I showed him some old clips on the www, much to his amusement. Well, all these years on and Edna is still there, nature slowly hiding her.

Evil Edna was the wicked television set witch who starred in the early 1980s television series Willo the Wisp.  She was rarely amused and constantly at pains to upset the otherwise happy world of Doyley Woods. She haa a whole range of wicked spells and torments at her aerial tips.
She was selfish and vain and if she ever cast an apparently nice spell it is for her own ends, or invariably "to teach someone a lesson". She always referred to the other characters in a disparaging manner - 'fat' (Mavis), 'Stupid' (Moog), 'interfering' (Arthur). She had no time or affection for anyone, although once she fell in love with a newsreader!

We do not advocate dumping old TVs or old anything to that matter.  Maybe one day she will be gone but for us the spot will always be known as Evil Edna when we go for a walk - 'just taking the dog up around Ednas'

Please enjoy this area and the many walks from here smiley
