Geocache Description:

Please note, as of February 1st, 2014, I am a Floridian! If you see that this cache needs a new log, I'd appreciate the help to keep it active! Thanks!

PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE DOWN THE PAVED OR DIRT UTILITY ROAD! The paved road is private, and while I'm almost positive the dirt road is on BLM land, driving on it will get you unwanted attention from the plant security. One cacher has advised that security is okay with geocachers there. But please HIKE ONLY for the caches hidden on this side of the loop.

Congrats to D&dGeoDuo for FTF!

This cache is a part of my "Up on the Hump" mini-loop trail.

Be careful of critters, whether they bite, sting, or anything else. Things you might see along this trail: Lots of bunnies, desert tortoises, snakes, quail, coyotes, bats, horses and others.

This loop (follow the stars) is almost exactly 3 miles if followed all the way around. I will warn that only 1/4 of it is paved. The rest is dirt and gravel.

I suggest that you start this at the trail head at the top of Equestrian Dr. and Foothills Dr., however there are other access points along the way (dog park at Equestrian/Magic, equestrian park off Magic). If starting on the west end of the wooden bridge at the trail head, you will be off the paved trail. If you walk along the fence that follows the flood control channel, it will eventually turn into a hump (thus the name). Follow this path until you come to another bridge that leads from the dog park to the equestrian park.

When you get almost to the end of the utility road, you'll see a cut-off path that leads to a yellow trail gate. This is where you will pick up the paved path that leads you back to the trail head.

I also have several other caches of various sizes and difficulties, so please check them out! Have fun and happy hunting!
