A nice sized cache along a well groomed and scenic trail through the park.
This cache has been placed with permission from Saskatchewan Provincial Parks. Please treat the area with respect, and replace the cache exactly as you found it. Take a look at the Sask Parks Geocaching Program page for more information about Geocaching in Provincial Parks.
The Trans-Canada trail runs through Duck Mountain Provincial Park, and during our visit in 2013 we discovered this nice area along the trail where a bridge crosses a stream. We placed the cache nearby, uphill from the water to ensure it doesn’t float away any time soon.
The Saskatchewan Trails Association maintains maps of the Trans-Canada trails in Saskatchewan, including Duck Mountain Provincial Park.
Please ensure that the cache is re-hidden exactly how and where you found it!
The day before we hid this cache, our handheld GPS made a 30 minute visit to the bottom of Madge Lake on a maintenance visit to our "Madge Lake Canoe Adventure" geocache on an island in the middle of the lake. By the time we recovered the unit water had leaked in and rendered it non-functional at the time of hiding. The coordinates unfortunately had to be obtained using our Garmin Nuvi, so they may not be as accurate as hoped. We would appreciate it if you could include your coordinates when posting your log to help us verify and/or improve the accuracy.
