Geocache Description:

Holly's House is a State Heritage Place within the Onkaparinga Council district, situated on the edge of Cottage Lane Reserve.

Established in the 1840's the building was originally a three room cottage which was constructed around a dug-out shelter which now comprises a cellar. The first three roomed cottage was built of wattle and daub and roofed with thatch.

Later extensions comprising an additional six rooms were made adjoining the northern wall of the original three room cottage with a corrugated iron roof built over the entire building. The building was associated with the Holly family and is believed to have been built prior to the subdivision of Hackham. William Holly was a pioneer of Hackham and had begun farming in the area by 1842.
