The picturesque village of Valldemossa is comfortably nestled among the surrounding valley slopes of the Tramuntana Ranges. Poking out from the town, is the famous 14th century Carthusian monastry, the Real Cartuja de Valldemossa, which has links to the Polish composer Frederic Chopin. The cultural gem is only 17km from Palma de Mallorca, so perfect for a day trip.

In the old city centre of Valldemossa is the Church of St. Bartholomew. Facing its main entrance, pass the church on the left side and find a little fountain with a statue of a woman.
