There’s a surfing spot on the Westside of Kauai known as “inters” and it is there you will also find McArthur’s Park which this cache is named for. MacArthur Dela Cruz was a quiet man but was very hardworking and very passionate in the things he did. He was very instrumental in the construction of this park whether it was obtaining equipment to start the foundation or recruiting friends and others for to help with the erection of the pavilions there. All of this was done voluntarily. You could count on him being there from the beginning till the end of the parks construction. And even after all that, I would still see him almost every day tirelessly doing maintenance and landscaping work at the park. Thanks to him the community now has a place to go to party, camp, spend time with friends and family while enjoying the beautiful beach. So come and check out the sunset at the beach but don’t forget to visit this special place that Mac built.
