Geocache Description:

This is a unique Little Free Library while being part of the larger non-profit www.littlefreelibrary.org which began in Milwaukee, WI.  This was the 5th official LFL listing in the Holland area.  Take a book or leave a book and/or sign the notebook/logbook.  This is the 2nd LFL to be built by our family to share the love of reading with those in our community. Some Little Free Library facts: Some facts about LFL's: 1. There are Little Free Libraries in all 50 states, in 91 countries, and on every continent except Antarctica. 2. The first LFL was created as a memorial. 3. One LFL was carved from the stump of a 110-yr old tree. 4. more than 120 million books have been shared in LFL worldwide. 5. There is a LFL book-sharing box at the Library of Congress. 6. Many LFL's are crafted by Amish carpenters. 7. There are three LFL's for every public library in the United States. 8. LFL's were almost called "Habitats for Humanities" but it doesn't quit have the same ring. 9. The 75,000th LFL was given to a school where 32 languages are spoken. 10. Not all LFL's stand still...some are on bicycles. 11. There are over 150,000 LFL's worldwide. 12. The first LFL was founded in 2009. This idea began with one gentlemen in Wisconsin who wanted to somehow honor his Librarian mother....and so it began....
