This park contains a memorial to honor and remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. It is meant to especially recognize area firefighters killed in the line of duty and all the firefighters who died during 9/11.
The memorial also contains an artifact, a beam, that was removed from the twin towers and was donated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District.
The park is a great place to fish from the shore, have a picnic, take a nice walk, or just sit and watch the boats go by.
