Geocache Description:

COORDINATES ABOVE ARE NOT FOR THIS OR ANY OF THE 8 LEGS IN THIS SERIES. You will have to do a little decrypticing in order to find the coordinates for each cache. The EAST 4040 CRYPTIC CHALLENGE will take you to some of my favorite spots. You will excercise, your legs, lungs, and MIND to complete the task. Are YOU up to it?

The above coordinates are just a good starting/reference point and are within FIVE miles of the cache. Those coordinates do NOT figure into the puzzle for finding the actual cache coordinates. Instead, for each cache in E4040CC, you will need to add two factors to get the CORRECT coordinates. In each case, one will be here on the web page as shown below for Factor #1 and will always be a number of minutes (portions of a degree) which will be added to Factor #2 to come up with the final coordinates. Factor #2 will have to come from clues and puzzles along the way.

For this 4th cache use:

Factor #1 +7.566' North & +2.125 West

Factor #2 for Alphabet Soup is found by adding the number of teeth you found out the last cache to each of several incomplete coordinates in your "Little Book of Clues". And then its really not too hard to find this cache.

Container is a 5x8x12” black plastic lunch box.
The contents are:
Geocaching Notice
Log book and mechanical pencil in zip lock.
2 black spiders
26 letters A thru Z of various styles, wood, blocks, plastic etc
10 numerals 1 thru 0 of various styles

Try to keep the theme alive and the alphabet complete. Bring a letter or number with you to trade for the same one of a different style. For example trade "an i for an i and a 2 for a 2" etc etc. :) Try to keep them on the small size (3” or less please). The container has some room for content expansion but not much.

I'll bet by now, you are just loving letters aren't you?!
