Historic Marker along the Old Red Trail Scenic Byway
While traveling west from Mandan along The Old Red Trail Highway 10 Scenic Byway http://oldredoldten.com/ there are many historic markers & sites to visit and see. This Geocache is located near the area where the Yellowstone Trail crosses the Old Red Trail. Yellowstone Trail is the path that General George Armstrong Custer and the 7th Cavalry traveled in 1876 on the way to the banks of the Little Big Horn River and the battle that killed Custer and over 250 of his troops. http://www.nps.gov/libi/index.htm There are a few other Geocaches in the area to seek if you have not done so.
