ECP - ERDDIG VIEW 2
Erddig Country Park Caches have been added to compliment and extend the existing Erddig caches so visitors get to see some of the wider area. We hope that you’ll enjoy a great day out in the area.
We hope these Erddig Country Park (ECP) Caches help visitors to see more of this great park and enjoy a day out in the area.
Most are on National Trust land (with their kind permission) and we’ve laid out the caches roughly in circular routes to enable shorter walks if desired.
This section of caches starts from the Dovecote, crossing the pasture land, incorporates the old Drovers Road and returns along the Wat’s Dyke Way.
There is a choice of parking areas around the park and we’ve included a couple of them as waypoints.
So now on to how to locate the cache itself. You'll need to take a look around you and find a few items as follows:
A = Number of lights on the gates,
B=Number of ornamental lakes,
C=Number of chimneys,
D=Number of slabs on top of the water overflow,
E=Number of stone pillars.
To work out the final location replace the letters in the formula with the numbers obtained
N53 AB.C(B+C)C, WAAD AA.BDD
We’ve placed a mixture of sizes and types of caches to add variety but most should be relatively straight forward finds.
Be warned some of the route can be very muddy so boots or wellies are recommended. There are a couple of short sections on the road but traffic is generally light on these sections. As always place take care of geokids and geodogs on these sections.
Thank you for visiting our caches.
