LÅGDALSMUSEET: Lågdalsmuseet er et kulturhistorisk museum for Kongsberg, Numedal og Øvre Eiker. Museet ligger i vakre omgivelser kun fem minutters gange fra Kongsberg sentrum. Det ble grunnlagt 22. februar 1924 av Tov Flatin, Per Mortensen og Otto Monsen.
Lågdalsmuseet ligger på løkkene som tilhørte gamle Glitre Gård. Byjord med løkkedrift var vanlig på Kongsberg i bergverkstida. Husdyrsrasene som beiter på Lågdalsmuseet er raser som var vanlige i Kongsberg og Numedal. Her kan du møte telemarksfe, geiter med killinger, spælsau og norsk hvit sau med lam, norsk landsvin, dølehest, høner og kaniner. I sommersesongen kan barna bli med inn til sauene og geitene kl. 13.00
Friluftsmuseet består av 32 antikvariske bygninger, blant annet flere Numedalstun med rosemalte stuer og ei Kongsberggate med krambu, bergmannsstue og skolestue. Ærverdige gamle Glitre gård, som var hjemmet til flere av byens bergembetsmenn, ligger også her. På Lågdalsmuseets gamle løkkeområde ligger også landets siste bevarte tårnlåve. Museets samlingsbygning inneholder en rekke gamle verksteder og butikker, en innholdsrik folkekunst-samling, distriktets hjemmefrontmuseum, og norges eneste spesialmuseum for optikk.

LÅGDALSMUSEET
This is a cultural/historic museum for Kongsberg, Numedal and Øvre Eiker. The museum is situated in beautiful surroundings; approximately 5 min walk from central Kongsberg. It was founded ion 22nd February 1924 of Tov Flatin, Per Mortensen and Otto Monsen.
It is located on the fields belonging to the old Glitre Farm. Town properties with farm fields were a common situation in the mining town of Kongsberg. The livestock that pastures in the fields of the museum belongs to the breed most common to the area. Among them you will find Telemark-cows, gouts, sheep, horses, pigs, hens and rabbits, most of them with off-springs. During the summer season, the children are allowed in to meet the sheep and the goats at 13.00 hours.
The open air museum consists of 32 old buildings, among them many courtyards from Numedal with cottages painted in the Norwegian traditional rose painting. You will also find a street from Kongsberg, supplied with the local store, miner’s cottage and the local school. You will also find the old Glitre gård, earlier the home of prominent miner residents. An old field barn, the last extant in the country, is placed in the fields of the museum.
The museum buildings are housing the collection of old workplaces and shops, a folklore collection, the local defence museum and the only special museum for optics.
