Geocache Description:

The cache is on the rim of a volcano with a very large shallow crater, there are superb views over Caldereta and the barranco that runs beside the village.

The parking spot suggested is because of the route that I wished to approach the volcano. I wanted to see one of the dams that are in the barranco and the steeper walled parts of the barranco. As a result it is far from being the easiest way to approach the cache and all recommendations and ratings are based on this route.
This route is not recommended for children of any age and walking shoes are strongly recommended.
From the parking spot follow the wall on the right all the way to the barranco, cross on top of the dam and climb up to the cache. At times it is very steep and some rudimentary climbing is necessary.
The views from the volcano and of the houses on the edges of the barranco make it all worthwhile.
Also following the wall means the fierce sounding dogs that guard the houses on the edge of the barranco won't know you´re there. If you do stray, don't worry, they stay within the boundaries of their properties.
Easier routes can be found by avoiding the steeper sides of the barranco. There is a track just before entering the village from the east which makes crossing the barranco easier. Similarly there is a track that runs westward from the village centre that also avoids the barranco.
The usual warning still applies to this cache, As with all walking in Fuerteventura, because of the rocky terrain, ALWAYS look where you place your feet, if you wish to admire the scenery, stop walking and plant your feet securely.
Please ensure that the cache is replaced exactly where it was found, the lid is secured and covered with the rocks.
